Homelessness in Massachusetts is on the rise. With single moms and children representing the fastest-growing segment of the population and the region’s unaffordability and housing supply issues compounding the problem, it’s time to come together to address this critical issue.

That’s why the Massachusetts Coalition of Community Banks is aligning to help end homelessness by supporting the work of Heading Home and promoting that work during the 2023 Red Sox game broadcasts. Jim Mawn, President & CEO of Northern Bank & Trust, has kicked off this collaboration with Heading Home by donating the first $10,000. About Heading Home

For nearly 50 years, Heading Home has helped thousands of adults and children leave homelessness behind. Today, they’re a leading provider of emergency, transitional, and permanent housing and support services for extremely low-income individuals and families currently or formerly experiencing homelessness in Greater Boston.

Heading Home provides a supportive pathway to self-sufficiency by utilizing evidence-based case management strategies that enhance economic and social mobility. Heading Home’s unique housing-plus-services approach has yielded a 17-year 90% success rate of clients remaining permanently housed.  Last year, fiscal year 2022, 97% of the households that moved out of shelter maintained their housing success for one year and beyond.
