One Family’s Way of Staying Positive During COVID-19

In a time of uncertainty, pause and isolation, it can be hard to find the silver lining, but one Heading Home family seems to have found it.

Tyrone, a Heading Home client in permanent supportive housing, has taken advantage of this unforeseen pause to spend more time with his daughter. Before COVID, they hardly had time to tackle projects together but in isolation, Tyrone and his daughter have been building a garden together. Growing together as a family and seeing literal growth in their garden has been a gift.

“Tyrone’s energy, positivity, and happiness make me want to garden too, but I don’t have a green thumb. He’s started to think about how he can teach us after isolation – we’ll all be mini gardeners in no time! Seeing the amazing work he’s doing, he truly is a light in these dark times.” – Jennifer Garcia, Individual Services Program Manager.

Positivity is powerful.
Growth happens even in isolation.
