Carolyn Jette works for the Department of Veteran Services helping veterans involved in the court system, those with substance abuse issues, and suicide prevention. She is a veteran herself having served in the US Navy. She was discharged medically due to seizures, something she never had prior. After many years of struggling with the disease, she had surgery and received her service dog Troy, and has now been seizure-free for eight years. During her spare time she enjoys training horses and riding. Carolyn has two girls who are her everything. Last year was her first marathon, which she trained and completed for herself. This past December Carolyn lost her brother to addiction. She decided to run in his memory and what better cause than Heading Home, since he himself was homeless for many years.

Ben Starr is a Partner at Atlantic Retail Properties. He is married with two children ages ten and seven, and they live in downtown Boston. This is Ben’s eleventh marathon, but first since 2012 in Boston. Ben has run for Heading Home in the past, and we are so excited to have him on the team again this year!
